3 Beautiful Remote Holiday Destinations in the UK
Wednesday 6th March 2019
With the fate of Brexit looming, escape the uncertainty and choose the safe, but by no means unexciting, option of touring in the UK. This country is dotted with a mass of beautiful remote locations, where visitors can befall breathtaking views and inhale fresh air. No tube, no traffic, and, more importantly, no work!
Book VW campervan hire in the North East or South West and whisk yourself and your loved one, be that your partner, family or best friend, and travel to one of these picturesque remote holiday destinations in the UK. Perfect for VW campervans, queue long country roads, sunsets and the freedom to map your journey at your leisure.
1. Brecon Beacons, South Wales
One moment you're on the main road into Wales, taking in the road signs with Welsh place names and the built up towns viewable from the road, and then you're leaning out of your seat to look at the man-made lake that materialises to your left. Before long, you're looking from side to side at the mountains, including the infamous Pen y Fan. This is well worth a hike if you're up to it! A burger van opens up early doors at the bottom, should you need a bacon roll for the energy.
The landscape of this captivating mountain range makes this a remote location in the UK like no other. Having phone signal is hit and miss, allowing you to get lost in the winding roads, discovering new locations for walks and quaint pubs. This feeling of freedom and adventure is one of the best reasons for VW campervan hire in our opinion!
2. Westor Ross, Northwest Scottish Highlands
If you're looking for a real adventure that feels a long way from home, get behind the wheel of our VW T6 and take yourself up to the Scottish Highlands. Wester Ross is an area of unspoiled beauty; an immense mountain range that will afford you days and days of space and time to rediscover yourself and achieve that feeling of relaxation that we all need. Choosing VW T6 campervan hire for a trip to Scotland affords you the incredible experience of parking up next to the captivating lochs and setting up camp, as wild camping is free in Scotland. Ocean Breeze Campers VW campervan hire in Yorkshire is perfectly situated for trips to Scotland.

3. Marazion, Cornwall
We have to confess, this isn't as rural as the others in our guide of some of the best remote holiday destinations in the UK, but it's a must visit, and it's only a short drive from many magnificent, wild locations. We found a lovely campsite with electric hook ups, hot water to wash up crockery in, and great showers (campers will understand these being stand out features) that was a short walk from Marazion beach. Not only is this beach an incredible vantage point for a fantastic view of St. Michael's Mount, but in the evenings in the summer there's a fireworks display from the Mount, so you can see this great castle bathed in colour.
Make sure to plan a trip to this famous tourist spot in the day, too. If you're lucky to visit on a day when the tide is out, you can walk the causeway to the Mount. When you get there, make sure to enjoy a boat tour around the island led by one of the locals, if they are running that day. They can provide a true insight into the history that beats Wikipedia!
